Näkyvät- Keho visuaalisen tilan tulkitsijana koreografisessa prosessissa

Abstract

Vilma Kärkkäisen taiteellinen opinnäytetyö Näkyvät pohtii kuinka visuaalinen tila vaikuttaa tanssin tulkintaan ja koreografiseen työskentelyyn. Teoksen lähtökohtana toimi visuaalinen tila, jonka kautta teos tutki kuinka julki-sessa tilassa työskentelyä voi hyödyntää tanssin tulkintana. Työn toteutuksena toimi tanssielokuva, jonka ta-voitteena oli kehittää koreografin taiteellista ja ammatillista kasvua alan luovana taiteilijapedagogina.

Elokuvassa tanssijat ratkovat annettua tehtävää ja liikemateriaalia yksilöllisesti, oman kehon kokemuksen kaut-ta, tehden tilallista aistihavaintojen kautta syntyvää tulkintaa. Teos laajeni lavalla nähdyksi liiketutkimukseksi teoksen esityspäivänä ITAK- näyttämöllä 15.3.2022 osana Lähtölaukaus 2022- tanssifestivaalia. Elokuvan työ-ryhmään kuului tanssijat Viola Ryssy, Milla Mäkikyrö, Emmi Rintamäki sekä Kristiina Pynnönen. Elokuvan ääni-suunnittelijana toimi Rasmus Tirronen ja elokuvan esitystilassa esiintyjänä toimi Mia Kärkkäinen.

Työn menetelminä toimi tilassa toteutettu liiketutkimus sekä fenomenologinen kokemuksen kautta avautuva näkökulma, josta työn liikemateriaali ja tulkinta syntyi tanssijoiden itsenäisen sekä valmiin liikemateriaalin ku-vauksen kautta. Työn prosessissa Kärkkäinen toimi elokuvan tekijän ja koreografin roolissa, kuvaten erilaisissa tiloissa tapahtuvaa esitysmateriaalia. Opinnäytetyön kirjallinen osuus avaa teoksen sisäisiä käsitteitä, aihetta tutkivan teorian sekä kokemusta reflektoivan harjoitusprosessin sisällön kautta.

Vilma Kärkkäisen opinnäytetyö tarjoaa taiteellista tarkastelua ja reflektiota liikkeen ja tilan välisestä suhteesta. Työ osoittaa, kuinka tanssijan ja koreografin ammatillisen osaamisen kehittämiseen käytetty visuaalinen tila voi olla luova ja taiteellisesti tuottava.

This artistic thesis Näkyvät explored how working in a public space can be used as an interpretation of dance. The work's starting point was the visual space, through which the work explored how working in a public space can be used as an interpretation of dance. The film attempts to capture the dancers' inner experience of their own movement, as well as their exploration of the space around them. The piece expanded into the stage on the day of the piece's performance on the ITAK stage on March 15, 2022, as part of the Lähtölaukaus 2022 dance festival. The film's working group in-cluded Viola Ryssy, Milla Mäkikyrö, Emmi Rintamäki and Kristiina Pynnönen. Rasmus Tirronen was the film's sound designer and Mia Kärkkäinen was the performer in the performance space.

The phenomenological perspective of the research focused on the experience of the dancers and their rela-tionship to the space and the movements that were taking place in it. Through this, the researchers were able to gain an in depth understanding of the dynamics of the movement and how it was experienced by the danc-ers. The research team also used questionnaires and interviews with the dancers to gain insight into their experience of the work and their interpretation of the movement material.

The work shows how the movement and space can be used to express and communicate ideas, emotions, and messages. The thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the relationship between movement and space and offers valuable insight into the creative process of creating dance and choreography.
