Nuorteniltoja Lauttasaaren seurakunnalle

Abstract

Kehittämispainotteinen opinnäytetyö tehtiin yhteistyössä Lauttasaaren seurakunnan kanssa. Opinnäytetyönä luotiin materiaalit seurakunnan nuoreniltoja varten. Materiaalit suunniteltiin siten, että nuoret voivat pitää iltoja itsenäisesti tai nuorisotyönohjaajan kanssa. Kaikkiin iltoihin suunniteltiin samanlainen runko, joka koostuu tavoitteesta, tutustumisesta, illan aiheen käsittelystä ja hartaudesta. Jokainen ilta on toiminnalliselta ja osallistavalta osaltaan erilainen, jotta iltoihin saatiin vaihtelevuutta ja nuoret pääsevät kokeilemaan erilaisia tapoja iltojen aiheiden käsittelyssä. Materiaaleja työstettiin erityisesti nuorten osallisuutta ajatellen. Iltojen haluttiin sisältävän toiminnallisen osan, joten sen ympärille rakennettiin iltojen muu sisältö. Esimerkkejä suunnitelluista illoista lähetettiin Lauttasaaren seurakunnan nuorisotyönohjaajalle ja iltojen lopulliset versiot muokattiin kommentit huomioon ottaen.

Nuorteniltojen teemoiksi valikoituivat kuluttaminen, kasvisruoka, ystävyys, rukous omassa elämässä ja Raamattu arjessa. Aiheet perustuivat Lauttasaaren nuorisotyöntekijän kanssa käytyihin keskusteluihin. Tavoite on aktivoida nuoria osallistumaan seurakunnan toimintaan ja helpottaa nuorisotyötä tältä osin valmiin nuorteniltasapluunan avulla. Nuortenilloissa halutaan tarjota nuorille mahdollisuus oppia uutta itsestään, omasta uskostaan ja ympäröivästä maailmasta. Pyrkimyksenä on, että nuortenillat tukevat nuorten henkistä ja hengellistä kasvua riippumatta siitä, kuinka tuttu usko tai seurakuntaelämä heille ennestään on.

Ajatus opinnäytetyön aiheesta syntyi kesällä 2021. Lauttasaaren seurakunnassa ei tuolloin ollut ollenkaan nuorteniltatoimintaa ja tilanteeseen toivottiin muutosta. Seurakunnan konkreettiseen tarpeeseen vastattiin tuottamalla viisi eri teemaista valmista nuorteniltaa. Materiaalit tulevat seurakunnan käyttöön keväällä 2023.

This development-focused thesis was made in cooperation with Lauttasaari parish. The thesis project developed a material for the parish youth hangouts. The material was produced so that the young people involved can host the youth hangouts by themselves or with the help of the church youth worker. All the youth hangouts will follow a specific frame created that consist of a goal, getting to know each other, theme for the hangout and a devotional part. Every hangout is designed to be different on the functional and participatory parts so that there will be variability. This way the young people involved get to try different methods on handling the theme of the hangout. The material was produced specifically with the involvement of the young in mind and the hangouts were designed to have a functional part and other activities. Drafts of the hangouts were sent to the Lauttasaari parish youth worker, and the final versions are edited considering their feedback.

The themes for the church youth hangouts ended up being consumption, vegetarian food, friendship, prayer in one’s life and the bible in everyday life. The topics were based on the conversations with the church youth worker. The goal was to activate young people to participate in the youth events hosted by the Lauttasaari parish and to ease the parish youth work by giving them a complete material package. The objective was to offer the young people an opportunity to learn new things about themselves, their fate, and the surrounding world. The goal was that the hangouts would support the young people´s emotional and spiritual growth regardless of how familiar Christianity or the congregational life to them is.

The idea for the thesis topic was decided in the summer of 2021. Back then the Lauttasaari parish didn’t have any youth hangout activity, so they wished for that to change. This thesis answered the parish need by creating five complete youth evenings with different topics. The materials will be up for use in the spring of 2023.
