Vahvaksi varhaikasvatuksessa: vahvuuksien huomiointi positiivisen pedagogiikan keinoin

Abstract

Positiivinen pedagogiikka ja vahvuusperustainen työote ovat nousemassa merkittäväksi kasvatussuuntaukseksi varhaiskasvatuksen arjessa, ja niiden hyöty perustuu vahvaan tutkimusperustaiseen näyttöön. Toimeksiantajana kehittämistyössä oli Pilke musiikkipäiväkoti Tempo Kiuruvedeltä. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli luoda toimeksiantajalle opas, johon koottiin teoriatietoa ja käytännön toimintaideoita positiivisesta pedagogiikasta sekä vahvuudet huomioivasta työmenetelmästä. Kehittämistyön tavoite oli tuoda tietoa ja syventää työntekijöiden osaamista positiivisesta pedagogiikasta ja vahvuusperustaisesta työskentelystä. Oppaan avulla voidaan sisäistää positiivisen pedagogiikan sekä vahvuusperustaisen työotteen merkitys ja hyödyt. Opas voidaan ottaa kestäväksi työorientaatioksi osana työyhteisöjen arkea.

Kehittämistyö toteutettiin lineaarisen mallin mukaan. Tuotteena luotiin opas yhteistyössä Pilke musiikkipäiväkoti Tempon kanssa. Oppaasta luotiin helposti ymmärrettävä ja käytännöllinen. Oppaan sisällön avulla työntekijä voi syventää osaamista ja muodostaa kokonaiskuvan positiivisesta pedagogiikasta sekä vahvuusperustaisesta työskentelystä. Siihen valittiin tieteelliseen tutkimukseen ja teoriaan perustuvaa tietoa.

Oppaan avulla työntekijöillä ja -yhteisöllä on mahdollisuus kehittää toimintaansa oman päiväkodin näköiseksi. Kehittämistyö tuo tietoa sekä syventää osaamista positiivisesta pedagogiikasta sekä vahvuusperustaisesta työotteesta varhaiskasvatuksen näkökulmasta. Kun varhaiskasvatuksessa toteutetaan positiivista pedagogiikkaa ja vahvuusperustaista työskentelyä voidaan oppaassa jaettua tietoa ja esimerkkejä hyödyntää toiminnassa. Jatkossa tutkimuksella voisi selvittää, millaista hyötyä positiivisesta ja vahvuusperustaisesta työskentelystä var-haiskasvatuksessa työskentelevät ovat kokeneet saavansa varhaiskasvatuksen arkeen.

The client for the development work was Pilke musiikkipäiväkoti Tempo from Kiuruvesi. The purpose of the thesis was to create a guide for the client, which gathered theoretical knowledge and practical action ideas about positive pedagogy and a work method that takes strengths into account. The goal of the development work was to bring information and deepen employees' knowledge of positive pedagogy and strength-based working. With the help of the guide, you can internalize the meaning and benefits of positive pedagogy and the strengths-based approach. The guide can be taken as a sustainable work orientation as part of the everyday life of work communities.

With the help of the guide, employees and the community have an opportunity to develop their operations to simulate their kindergarten. The development work brings information and deepens knowledge about positive pedagogy and strengths-based approaches from the perspective of early childhood education. When positive pedagogy and strength-based working are implemented in early childhood education, the information and examples shared in the guide can be used in practice. In the future, the study could be used to find out what kind of benefits those working in early childhood education and care have felt that they get from positive and strength-based work in early childhood education and care.
