This thesis aims to assess the importance of mental well-being of healthcare workers and how burnout or stress can affect the patient care. The significance of this study will further reveal the coping mechanisms of the nurses in order to maintain their state of health and well-being while they are working.
The data was gathered through an observation of how the nurses working in the nursing home deal with their mental well-being and their different coping mechanisms, and then correlating it to the evidence-based studies.
The results show that the observation detected in the nurses are proven in the evidence-based studies that was searched. It was noted that most of the coping mechanisms are effective in a way that the nurses can use it to improve their mental state.
The conclusion of this diary thesis can also be useful to healthcare organizations on how they can create or improve programs that are related to the well-being of their nurses. The findings would be also beneficial for nursing students who wish to have an overview of how it feels to work in a nursing home setting and how they can adapt to the workplace.
