Design and implementation of an interactive and informative mascot: company X

Abstract

The objective of the collaborative project with Company X was to create innovative health safety and experiential concepts for brick-and-mortar stores, with the goal of enhancing the appeal and competitiveness of these stores. From Company X's perspective, the main focus is on utilizing an attractive and informative mascot to capture the attention of potential customers passing by. The concept was centered around engaging with pedestrians by utilizing a laptop connected to a 40-inch display that features a well-designed webpage in the form of a mascot. The camera and servo motors were integrated with a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and utilize OpenCV to detect pedestrians. When pedestrians are detected, the servo motor will control the mascot's mode change, allowing it to display information about Company X. This solution aims to increase the foot traffic to the store and drive business growth by enticing more customers to visit and explore Company X's offerings.
