Tiivistelmä
Northern Savo is one of the many provinces in Finland where success is determined by know-how, hard work and entrepreneurship. With the assistance of these features, it is possible to create a framework of a welfare state for the future. As startups continue to play a significant part in growth within the region, numerous sales pitch events have been organized across the nation with various industry-based events in order to meet the demand for platforms designated for startups.
Commissioned by the Kuopio Region Chamber of Commerce, the thesis aimed to find out and analyze the value proposition of Tahko Ski Lift Pitch, a local startup sales pitch event, from the point of view of entrepreneurs and startup founders attending the event. Moreover, the objective of the research was to examine plausible future prospects based on the strengths and weaknesses of the event.
The qualitative research method was mainly applied in the thesis, which allowed value analysis tools, such as the Value Proposition Canvas and the SWOT analysis, to be used. The VPC established the relationship between the demands of customers and the activities Tahko Ski Lift Pitch offers, and the SWOT analysis allowed a transparent look of the entire event, with strengths and points of improvement. In addition to qualitative methods, a survey was implemented amongst Tahko Ski Lift Pitch alumni to further acknowledge their experiences as well as gained values in the research.
The thesis concludes that Tahko Ski Lift Pitch manages to be a notable enforcement in the Kuopio region startup ecosystem as it eases most customer jobs and pains as a startup sales pitch event. At the same time, the event has room to improve; by acknowledging true customer needs and thoroughly defining their international plans for the future, Tahko Ski Lift Pitch has an opportunity to fully establish itself as a recognizable and unique sales pitch event.
