Mitä tehtäis? : opas Nuortenkoti Pysäkin yhteisöiltojen suunnittelun tueksi

Abstract

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kehittämistyönä. Kehittämistyössä suunniteltiin, toteutettiin ja arvioitiin opas Nuortenkoti Pysäkin yhteisöiltojen suunnittelun tueksi. Oppaaseen kerättiin materiaalia erilaisista aktivi-teeteista, joita yhteisöilloissa voi tehdä. Opas toteutettiin Canva-ohjelmalla ja oppaan sisältö jaoteltiin teemoittain. Tavoitteena oli tuottaa Nuortenkoti Pysäkin lasten ja työntekijöiden toiveiden mukainen opas, joka on helposti käytettävä. Tavoitteena työllä oli myös lisätä Nuortenkoti Pysäkillä asuvien lasten osalli-suutta ja halua vaikuttaa itseä koskeviin asioihin.

Aiheeksi valikoitui lastensuojelu opinnäytetyöntekijöiden henkilökohtaisten kiinnostuksenkohteiden poh-jalta. Lasten osallisuus on yhteiskunnallisena aiheena merkittävä ja siksi se haluttiin ottaa työn kantavaksi teemaksi. Työllä haluttiin edistää osallisuutta ja mahdollisuutta vaikuttaa itseä koskeviin asioihin. Kehit-tämistyön suunnittelussa hyödynnettiin yhteiskehittämistä. Yhteiskehittämisellä pyrittiin osallistamaan Nuortenkoti Pysäkin lapset sekä työntekijät kehitettävän kohteen suunnitteluun. Lasten kanssa menetel-mänä käytettiin dialogista keskustelua ja työntekijöiden kanssa avointa ideointitaulua. Lapset ja työnteki-jät haluttiin osallistaa suunnitteluun, koska oppaasta haluttiin tehdä heidän toiveisiinsa ja tarpeisiinsa vastaava, jolloin heidän mielipiteensä oli tärkeää saada tietää.

Toimeksiantajana opinnäytetyössä oli Familarin Nuortenkoti Pysäkki, joka on lastensuojelun sijaishuollon erityisyksikkö 13–17-vuotiaille lapsille. Nuortenkoti Pysäkki sijaitsee Kuopiossa ja yksikön toimintaa ohjaa-vat tavoitteellisuus, suunnitelmallisuus ja johdonmukaisuus. Nuortenkoti Pysäkillä lasten kanssa työsken-nellään yksilö- ja ryhmämuotoisesti sekä yksikön erityisosaamiseen kuuluu päihde- ja riippuvuustyösken-tely sekä perhetyö. Kehittämistyön tuotoksena syntyi selkeä ja käytännöllinen opas yhteisöiltojen suunnittelun tueksi. Oppaa-seen koottiin erilaisia aktiviteetti-ideoita, joita yhteisöilloissa voi tehdä. Opas jaoteltiin viiteen pääteemaan, joiden alle koottiin eri aktiviteetteja. Arvioinnin pohjalta oppaaseen tehtiin tarvittavat muutokset, jolla saa-tiin varmistettua, että työ vastasi sille asetettuja tavoitteita. Palautteena saadun jatkokehittämisidean pohjalta voisi olla toimivaa kehittää oppaan käyttöön selkeä kuukausikohtainen suunnitelma. Saadussa palautteessa oppaaseen oltiin tyytyväisiä ja sen arvioitiin jäävän Nuortenkoti Pysäkin käyttöön.

The thesis was implemented as a development work. In the development work, a guide was designed, im-plemented and evaluated to support the planning of community evenings at the youth home Pysäkki. The guide gathered material on various activities that can be done at community evenings. The guide was im-plemented using the Canva program and the content of the guide was divided by theme. The aim was to produce a guide that is easy to use according to the wishes of the kids and employees of the youth home Pysäkki. The aim of the work was also to increase the participation of the children living at the youth home Pysäkki and their willingness to influence matters concerning themselves.

The topic chosen was child welfare based on the personal interests of the authors of the thesis. Children's participation is a significant social topic, which it was wanted to make it the main theme of the work. The aim of the work was to promote inclusion and the opportunity to influence matters concerning oneself. Co-creation was utilised in the planning of the development work. The aim of the co-creation was to involve the children and employees of the youth home Pysäkki in the planning of the site to be developed. The method used was a dialogical discussion with the children and an open brainstorming board with the em-ployees. The aim was to involve children and employees in the design because they wanted to make the guide meet their wishes and needs, so it was important to know their opinion.

The client for the thesis was Familar's Youth Home Pysäkki, which is a special unit for child welfare foster care for children aged between 13–17 years. The youth home Pysäkki is located in Kuopio, and the unit's operations are guided by goal-orientation, planning and consistency. At the youth home Pysäkki, work is carried out with the children in an individual and group manner, and the unit's special expertise includes substance abuse and addiction work as well as family work. The result of the development work was a clear and practical guide to support the planning of community evenings. The guide gathered various activity ideas that can be done in community evenings. The guide was divided into five main themes, under which various activities were compiled. On the basis of the evalu-ation, the necessary changes were made to the guide to ensure that the work met its objectives. On the basis of the feedback received for further development an idea could be for a functional, clear monthly plan for the use of the guide. In the feedback received, the guide was welcomed, and it was estimated that it would remain in the use of the youth home Pysäkki.
