Building Scalable LAN Solution

Abstract

Large public sector organization, managing thousands of network devices, needed a new network architecture to resolve issues in network scalability, maintenance processes and automation. Network maintenance and delivery process of new and updated configuration requires significant amount manual work to deploy and needs to be improved. Updated network design should include recommendations of the technologies and components that should be applied. Current technology solution available from different manufacturers were evaluated via interviews with sales representatives, technical consultants, and written documentation. Based on the research, VXLAN based networks are widely supported and recommended by many device manufacturers to create software defined networks for enterprises.
