ISBAR-kommunikointimenetelmä anestesiahoitajien raportoinnissa

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää kuinka anestesiahoitajat käyttävät ISBAR-kommunikointimenetelmää raportoidessaan. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa ISBAR-kommunikointimenetelmän käytöstä ja lisätä hoitajien tietoisuutta omasta raportoinnista ja löytää keinoja kehittää raportointia ja tätä kautta parantaa potilasturvallisuutta. Tutkimus toteutettiin havainnointitutkimuksena Vaasan keskussairaalan päiväkirurgialla. Tutkimuksessa havainnoitiin anestesiahoitajien raportointia ja kuinka he käyttivät raportoinnin tukena ISBAR-kommunikointimenetelmää. Teoreettinen viitekehys muodostui ISBAR:sta, SBAR:sta, anestesiahoitajista, kommunikaatiosta sekä raportoinnista. Tutkimuksesta tuli ilmi, että suurin osa anestesiahoitajista käyttivät hyvin ISBAR-kommunikointimenetelmää antaessaan raporttia. Tutkimus osoittaa, että ISBAR-menetelmää käytetään osittain hyvin, mutta kaikkia kohtia ISBAR-kommunikointimentelmästä ei käytetä riittävästi. Tutkimustulokset anestesiahoitajien ISBAR-kommunikointimenetelmän käytöstä vahvistavat aikaisempaa tutkimustietoa.

The purpose of this bachelor ‘s degree was to find out how a nurse anaesthetist uses ISBAR-communication method when reporting. The aim was to produce in-formation about the use of ISBAR-communication method and to increase the knowledge of their own reporting and to find out ways to develop reporting and to improve patient safety in this way. The study was implemented as an observation study at the daysurgery unit of Vaasa Central Hospital. The reporting of nurse anaesthetists was observed and the focus was on how they used ISBAR-communication method support when reporting. The theoretical reference was based on ISBAR, SBAR, nurse anaesthe-tists, communication and reporting. The study results show that most nurse anaesthetists used ISBAR-communication method well when reporting. The research shows that the method is partially used well, but not all points from the ISBAR-communication method are used sufficiently. The research results on the use of the ISBAR-communication method confirm previous research data.
