Vallattoman laivan laulut: nuotti- ja leikkikirjan kokoaminen ja julkaisu

Abstract

Vallattoman laivan laulut – Nuotti- ja leikkikirjan kokoaminen ja julkaisu, on prosessikuvaus samannimisestä, toukokuussa 2023 julkaistavasta nuotti- ja leikkikirjasta. Kirjan tekijöinä ovat Liisa Kallio, Soili Perkiö ja Piia Säpyskä. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on ollut koota seikkaperäinen selvitys kirjan ideasta sen julkaisemiseen. Työ on taiteellinen toimintatutkimus ja se on tehty osittain yhtä aikaa kirjan valmistumisen kanssa. Teoriaosuudessa on esitelty taiteellisen- ja toimintatutkimuksen pääkohtia peilaten niitä kirjaprojektiin. Suunnitteluvaihe-kappaleessa kerrotaan, miten kaikki alkoi ja jatkoi kehittymistään kohti kustannettavaa kirjaa. Kappaleessa selostetaan kirjassa esiintyvien hahmojen tarinat, miten yhteistyö kantoi hedelmää ja miten koko projekti sai uutta tuulta purjeisiinsa. Myös eri roolit kirjan tekemisessä avataan. Toteutusvaiheessa keskitytään varsinaisen kirjan kokoamisen osuuteen alkaen apurahan hakemisesta kirjan painattamiseen asti. Kappaleessa kerrotaan yhteistyöstä Lastenmusiikkiorkesteri Loiskiksen kanssa kirjaan liittyvän levyn valmistamiseksi. Lisäksi on haastateltu muita kirjantekijöitä ja heidän näkökulmiaan verraten tätä projektia heidän aiempiin projekteihinsa. Haastatteluista on tehty sisältöanalyysi yhdessä omien näkökulmieni kanssa.

This thesis is a process description and, at the same time, an action study on a book, which will be published in May 2023. The authors of the book are Liisa Kallio, Soili Perkiö and Piia Säpyskä. The aim of my thesis was to gather a detailed study starting from the idea and describing the process of the book writing continuing until publishing it. Similarly, the conditions and perspectives for the implementation of a similar process were described in the thesis. This thesis is an artistic action study, and it was done mainly in parallel with the completion of the book and the implementation of the processes associated with it. The theoretical background presents the perspectives of artistic and action research, reflecting them to the book project and its implementation. At the planning stage, it is reported how the book project began and continued to evolve towards a commercially published book. The thesis illustrates the stories of the characters in the book, how cooperation worked between the participants and how the whole project was carried out. The different roles of the working group in making the book are also explained. The description of the implementation phase focuses on the part of the compilation of the actual book starting from the application of the grants to the printing process of the book. The thesis also introduces the successful cooperation with the Children's Music Orchestra “Loiskis” in producing and recording an album of the book’s songs. The other authors were interviewed for the thesis, comparing their perspectives from this project to their previous projects. The interviews were subjected to a content analysis together with the thesis writer’s own retrospective perspectives.
