Tiivistelmä
The objective of this study was to recommend improvements to the change control process in GBP’s project delivery process. Following a merger, the case company lacked a common approach for project managers to control changes in their projects. The outcome of the study is a set of recommendations that will enable the case company to improve its change control process.

The study consisted of four stages to address the business challenge. The first stage was a current state analysis that revealed the strengths and weaknesses of the existing change control process. The second stage was a literature review that sought answers from existing knowledge to address the findings of the current state analysis. This also formed the conceptual framework of the study. The third stage involved creating initial recommendations for process improvement with input from stakeholders. The fourth and final stage was validation, where feedback on the initial recommendations was sought from key stakeholders. Based on this feedback, the final recommendations for improving the change control process were created.

The final recommendations provide a solid foundation for the case company to properly implement a change control process into GBP’s project delivery process. With a proper change control process in place, project managers can be better prepared and make informed decisions regarding changes. It also helps prevent scope creep, which can lead to timeline delays and increased budget.
