This Bachelor´s thesis investigates the reasons behind high turnover rate within the commissioning company and they are interested to find out the reasons behind this phenomenon. Situation was studied from existing quantitative research from autumn 2022, and qualitative research was conducted for supervisors to gather more rich data.
Study was focusing on employees’ expectations of their supervisors, employee satisfaction, how supervisors are supported and performance appraisals. Managerial work impacts on employee satisfaction, which influences employee engagement to the work and dismissals. Principles of managerial work come from top management, and from clear leadership guidelines which are in line with company values, mission and vision.
Three companies have united with their diverse ways of managing people. Building one framework around the managerial work would be good idea. Guidelines for supervisors would keep the quality of managerial work constant. Implementing performance appraisals to the company would provide a leadership tool for management for building up better relationship with employee and supervisor.
