Engineering change management (ECM) plays a vital role in ensuring product quality, adaptability, and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing organizations. The objective of this thesis was to investigate and improve the ECM process at the case company, a Finnish forestry machine manufacturer.
The study adopts a qualitative case study approach employing data collection methods including document analysis, participant observation, and interviews with key stakeholders. The theoretical part of the thesis is available publicly, whereas the practical part has been omitted due to its confidential nature.
This study provides a comprehensive overview of the company's ECM process and offers valuable recommendations for its further development. The findings and recommendations lay the groundwork for advancing the ECM process within the company.
