Opas ikäihmisten omaishoitoon : peruspalvelukuntayhtymä Selänne

Abstract

Tämän toiminnallisen opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli helpottaa tiedon saamista omaishoitajuuteen liittyvissä asioissa Peruspalvelukuntayhtymä (PPKY) Selänteen alueella. Tavoitteenamme oli lisätä tietoutta yli 65-vuotiaiden ikäihmisten omaishoitajuudesta, tuottamalla selkeä ja helppolukuinen opas, johon koottiin tietoja PPKY Selänteen alueen palveluista. PPKY Selänne on noin 14 500 asukkaan alue Pohjois-Pohjanmaalla, joka järjestää alueille yhteisesti muun muassa sosiaali- ja terveyspalveluita.

Jotta ajantasaista tietoa omaishoitajuudesta olisi helpompi löytää se koottiin helposti luettavaksi, selkeäksi oppaaksi. Näin omaishoitajien on helpompaa saada selkoa ja löytää tarpeellista tietoa, joka yleensä hukkuu sosiaalipalveluiden sekamelskaan. Jotta omaishoitajat pystyisivät ja jaksaisivat toimia omaisensa hoitajana he tarvitsevat tietoa ja konkreettista tukea, joka helpottaisi arjessa elämistä. Tieto ja tuki antavat paremmat mahdollisuudet selvitä vaikeissakin hoitotilanteissa omassa kodissaan asuville hoidettaville ja hoitajilleen.

Toteutimme opinnäytetyömme toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä, jonka tuotoksena oli opas ikäihmisten omaishoitoon PPKY Selänteen alueelle. Opas sisältää tietoa omaishoidosta ja omaishoitoon liittyvistä asioista. Oppaassa kerrotaan, mitä omaishoito on, mitä tukea ja palveluita omaishoitoon on saatavilla ja miten niitä voi hakea PPKY Selänteen eli Haapajärvi, Pyhäjärvi ja Reisjärvi alueella. Opas tehtiin sähköiseen muotoon ja painettiin helposti jaettavaksi paperiseksi vihoksi.

Opinnäytetyötämme voivat hyödyntää omaishoitajat tai omaishoitajuutta suunnittelevat sekä työelämätaho. Oppaan avulla selkeytetään, millaista tukea ja palveluita omaishoitajille on saatavilla PPKY Selänteen alueella. Omaishoitajuuteen liittyviä oppaita on jo olemassa, mutta PPKY Selänteen alueella ei tällaista omaishoitajuuteen kohdistuvaa opasta vielä ole. Opas on mielestämme hyvin tarpeellinen apuväline ja siitä tulee varmasti olemaan hyötyä sekä uusille, että jo olemassa oleville omaishoitajille sekä myös omaishoidon parissa työskenteleville.

The purpose of this functional thesis was to promote information availability on matters related to caregiving in the area of Selänne municipal coalition for providing basic services. The goal was to increase awareness of caregiving for elderly people over 65 years of age by producing a clear and easy to read guide that included information about the services in the Selänne area. The Selanne coalition of municipalities for providing basic services area covers about 14,500 inhabitants in North Ostrobothnia. The coalition jointly organizes social and health services for the residents in the area.

To enable easy access to up-to-date information about caregiving, the information was compiled into an easy to read, clear guide. This is hoped to help the carers to obtain the necessary information more easily, being that typically the information can get lost in the jungle of social services. In order for the carers to be able to work for their loved ones, they need information and concrete support that could make everyday life easier. Information and support provide the carers and patients living in their own homes better opportunities to survive even in challenging caregiving situations.

This study was implemented as a functional thesis, the output of which was a guide for the commissioner of the study, The guide contains information about informal care and matters related to it. The guide tells you what informal care is, what support and services are available for it, and how you can apply to become a carer in the commissioner area i.e. Haapajärvi, Pyhäjärvi and Reisjärvi area. The guide was made in an electronic form, and it was printed as a paper leaflet.

This thesis can be used by working life actors carers or those planning to become carers. Guides related to informal care already exist, but in the commissioner area of this study there is no such guide yet. Therefore, the guide can be necessary and useful for both new and already existing carers, as well as those working in care.
