Tiivistelmä
The Frequency translates in a system, the specifications of the frequency translation are formed by the nonlinear device, which is the frequency mixer. The three types of mixers are in three performance levels, which are from lower to higher. This means the performance levels are developed by the type of selection of the mixer.
The goal of designing mixers was to compare and analyze them. Mixer performances are characterized by power spectrum at output ports, conversion loss, noise figure, output current at output ports and isolation between three ports. In this work they are depicted completely. Mixer’s operations are in Microwave S – band. All the performance pictures of the mixers are by down-conversion transmission line, and balun’s part finished by microstrip. All mixers were finished and simulated by MWO software, which is from Candence company. The MWO is very functional software, which can simulate all performances of the mixers.
A summary of the advantages and disadvantages of single diode mixer, single-balanced mixer and double-balanced diode mixer are presented in the Conclusions of this Thesis.
