Tiivistelmä
The objective of this study was to design an agile warehouse process for the project business needs of the case company.

The case company has increased need warehouse service offering to achieve a larger share of available construction project business.

This study is based on design research and the study included four stages. The first stage was a current state analysis identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the product management process. The second stage was a literature review of the existing knowledge and best practices, based on the weaknesses identified, which were compiled into the conceptual framework. The third stage was the co-creation of the initial recommendations for improving the process utilizing the outcomes from the previous stages. The fourth and last stage was a validation round of the initial recommendations by the senior management providing the feedback to finalize the process improvement recommendations. In addition, a recommendation for an implementation plan was created.

Several process strengths and weaknesses were identified during the study. The findings were distributed evenly throughout the process and therefore improvements were sought for the whole process. All the findings and the recommendations were divided into rational categories. The five weakness categories were process description and specification, prioritization, communication, key performance indicators, and work coordination and team lead.

The outcome of this study, the final recommendation, provide an agile warehouse service process to offer and rapidly set up for shorter project time period with existing resources. By improving the warehouse service process enables more frequent and equal ability to offer warehousing as project service perform more efficiently and improve of the customer management process that benefits all the functions, business units and ultimately the customers.
