User Experience Design of PlanUp mobile application

Abstract

This thesis presented the user experience design process of PlanUp, a planner mobile app, which frequently occurred prior to the development and deployment process. The application originated as a digital planner with the goal of increasing productivity and mindfulness for users in order to organize their daily lives and cope with challenging circumstances. These circumstances might involve forming healthy habits, balancing their personal time away from work, and creating a cluster-free schedule. The work in this thesis required studying and practicing the UXD process, which was integrated with an Agile methodology and the adoption of usability heuristics, with the objective to build a worthwhile application and deliver a favorable user experience to its target users in a limited period.

The thesis dedication has led to the delivery of a high-quality prototype designed as a result of a full design cycle. The prototype included a user-friendly user interface that was not only visually modern and minimalist, but also flexible and accessible to users with varied levels of mobile literacy. PlanUp's prototype was produced with visual design on iOS device for its most essential functionalities with customizable features and validated by usability testing at the final stage of design process.
