The objective of this thesis was to create strategic recommendations for commissioning company X to succeed on the social media platform of Tik Tok. Company X is a global enterprise that is widely recognized and well known across Mexico, where it was originally founded and is still headquartered. As more brands join Tik Tok, company X recognized both the potential and necessity to join the relatively new social media platform.
The thesis explores the concept of customer engagement in digital platforms and the functionality of Tik Tok for business use. The marketing methods of benchmarking and performance analysis are combined with general research to produce a concrete understanding of the social media platform. This thesis aimed to utilize sources and research specific to Mexico. The outcomes were used to create strategic and creative recommendations that will improve company X’s reach and engagement.
This paper found that with the help of social media platforms, companies can improve brand image, customer satisfaction and loyalty, and ultimately drive business growth. With this in consideration, it is vital for a large brand like company X to have a presence on the platform. The recommendations section includes insight into finding trending hashtags and music, creating content and engaging with customers. This information will help company X become successful on Tik Tok.
