Tiivistelmä
The study assesses the impact of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and data-driven Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction projects. The efficiency and sustainability of buildings in the preliminary stage of their lifecycle had been evaluated. A comprehensive review of existing literature on BEMS and LCE had been carried out to identify key concepts, methodologies, and challenges associated with these technologies. Primary data had been gathered from relevant scientific publications and supplemented with real-life case studies. Energy performance measures, implementation strategies, and potential synergies had been evaluated using quantitative and qualitative analyses. The study had provided beneficial insights into the interoperability of BIM, BEMS and LCE, ultimately assisting in the development of more sustainable and energy-efficient AEC projects. This research provided a better understanding of the existing technology and helped to identify potential solutions for future technology.
