Tiivistelmä
Decision Intelligence (DI) has revolutionized contemporary organizational decision-making, driven by an increasing reliance on data-driven insights. This thesis centres on Company-X, a Finnish firm renowned for its global procurement decision-making services. The principal aim of this study is to uncover the factors influencing the cost of these services and, importantly, explore how DI can be harnessed to optimize this cost.
DI provides quantifiable, actionable, and explicable recommendations, marking a transformative step in the evolution of decision-making processes. At its heart, this thesis zeroes in on the critical challenge faced by Company-X: the relentless escalation of service input costs, a predicament with far-reaching implications.
The primary objective of this research is to investigate the potential of DI in mitigating the high costs associated with global procurement decision-making services, a question of paramount significance. As the study unfolds, it explores the nuances of this issue with a methodical approach and a keen eye on the potential implications for Company-X, other industry players, and academia.
This rigorous journey culminates in four pivotal findings. Firstly, it reveals that the cost issue is no mere operational concern; it poses an existential threat to Company-X. The escalating input costs compromise competitiveness, erode profit margins, and endanger the company's future. Secondly, the analysis unravels the limitations of past attempts to tackle this issue, which were mired in generic technology solutions. Thirdly, the research validates the assumption that DI can be a transformative solution, grounded in both theory and practical application. Lastly, it unveils a complex landscape where challenges and opportunities coexist in the adoption of DI, offering a nuanced perspective.
The potential transformation offered by DI presents an opportunity to not only resolve the cost issue but also enhance service quality and competitiveness. This in-depth exploration connects the theoretical foundations with real-world applications, charting a path towards a brighter future for Company-X.
Note: Confidential Company-X materials has been excluded from the public report.
