The influence of social media has emerged as influential and transformative force, particularly in countries with complex political dynamics like Somalia. The thesis explores the multifaceted relationship between social media marketing and political discourse, using Somalia as a case study. The research method was qualitative. Through interviews with two Somali politicians and an in-depth analysis of the evolving political climate, this research sheds light on the profound implications of social media marketing on political campaigns and elections in Somalia.
This thesis highlights the moral problems and choices involved in digital campaigning, highlighting the need for honesty and sincerity. It expands this by reflecting on experiences in African nations and examples.
This thesis critically examines the pivotal question: How does social media influence electoral dynamics in Somalia, particularly as the nation progresses toward a one-person vote system?
The research suggest that while further research on this subject is imperative, the interviews conducted in this study have provided valuable insights and answered the central research question .The significance of social media will keep an essential component of Somalia's political destiny as it embarks on the transformative path.
