Tiivistelmä
This Thesis focuses on developing a proposal for a business model for the IT Services Company for operating in the Nordic Market. The business model supports a go-to-market strategy for accessing the Nordic market by the case company. The Nordic IT services market is one of the most mature and competitive. This market is also known for its technologically advanced vendors. The vendors continuously offer new digital services and develop emerging technology solutions to meet customer needs. All these factors pose a challenge for the case company when operating in this market.
In this study, the qualitative case study approach was chosen due to the need to provide an in-depth understanding of the research problem. This approach allows the thesis researcher to gather detailed data through different methods such as interviews, observations, and document analysis. This thesis is conducted in five stages, each describing a part of the research process. Data for this study was collected in three rounds. Outputs from the previous stages of the study were used as inputs to following stages. A combination of both primary and secondary data was used for conducting the analysis and building the proposal.
The thesis starts with the analysis of the Nordic IT services market trends, customer preferences, and competition. The theoretical framework of the study focuses on understanding the critical components of a successful business model, including the value proposition, target customer segments, channels, and revenue streams. The outcome is the proposal for a business model for the case company, an international IT services company, for operating in the Nordic market. The thesis recommends that the main areas for development include improving delivery and operational capabilities by establishing key strategic partnerships and adapting new emerging solutions for the Nordic Region. The proposed business model should increase the company’s strengths and address its weaknesses and should result in build long-term competitive advantage in the Nordic Market.
