This master's thesis explores the interplay between servant leadership and cultural intelligence in multicultural IT companies. The study uses a qualitative research approach, gathering insights from in-depth interviews with leaders and professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds in the IT industry.
The research identifies key characteristics of cultural intelligence, including empathy, cognitive complexity, emotional resilience, and continuous learning. These contribute to effective leadership in multicultural environments.
The study highlights the reciprocal relationship between cultural intelligence and servant leadership, demonstrating how high levels of cultural intelligence can enhance the adoption and effectiveness of servant leadership principles. The study finds that servant leadership aligns with polycentric leadership, emphasizing autonomy and trust. Cultural intelligence involves effective communication and conflict resolution in multicultural settings.
