Tiivistelmä
The diary-format thesis describes a daily job and responsibilities of a Junior User Experience (UX) Designer, on early stages of their career in IT industry, working in one of the biggest Nordics technology companies, during the observation period of 06.09.2023 - 31.10.2023.

The main objectives that author outlines in the introduction chapter are to explore the principles of creating accessible digital products and enhance the understanding and practical application of accessibility in UX design.

Withing the same chapter author introduces theoretical framework and key professional concepts, what includes key UX design concepts, WCAG guidelines, relevant EU laws and directives and relevant literature. Design tools such as Figma were described as useful part of designer kit for practical tasks, as well as heuristic evaluations, greyscale tests, and disability simulator applications used for assessment and improvement of the accessibility of digital products.

Description of the initial situation chapter describes authors current job responsibilities and requirements, personal knowledge and skills assessment, relation to stakeholders and interaction situations on a workplace.

Withing the diary entities chapter were presented author's daily tasks, challenges, and learning experiences over an eight-week period in various UX design projects author participates at Tietoevry, applying and testing the learned principles of accessibility. Regular interactions with mentor, colleagues and participation in professional development programs further enrich the learning experience.

The discussion chapter is author's self-reflection on development in understanding and application of accessibility principles and best practices in UX design. Progress is seen in the ability to assess and redesign digital components, aligning with global standards and user needs, comparing to the initial situation.

The insights gained through this writing are expected to contribute to author's career and can be useful as for newcomer UX designers, as a source of knowledge and experience outcomes.
