Tiivistelmä
This product-based thesis, commissioned by a European medium-sized business aviation operator, aims to develop a guide for improving fuel efficiency and environmental impact on business aviation. The main objective is to present practical and cost-effective strategies for reducing fuel consumption, thereby aligning with the Business Aviation Commitment to Climate Change (BACCC) sustainability goals. The guide is intended to offer increased fuel efficiency, financial savings, and positive environmental impact, contributing to global efforts against climate change.
The theoretical framework covers technological, operational, and infrastructure advancements, along with alternative fuels and market-based measures, focusing on those areas where business aviation operators can have the most impact on. Additionally, the thesis explores the role of technical writing in creating an effective guide, with principles like audience identification, clarity, style, tone and design.
The empirical section describes assembling the guide by combining theoretical knowledge with practical aspects. The results of the thesis demonstrate that implementing these strategies can lead to significant fuel savings and environmental benefits. The guide, structured to be clear and accessible, aims to encourage business aviation operators in adopting more fuel efficient and sustainable practices. This aligns with sustainable development, enhancing the competitiveness of companies while aligning with the BACCC sustainability goals.
