Synopsis
The year is 2118. Certified Hacker Dr. Jesse Waverly has been living on the Moon Colony working on her solar disc project with her partner Dr. Sydney Sturman. They hope to make breakthrough advancements in the communications abilities in space. The problem is nobody cares, and the project is out of funding. The only thing that matters in 2118 is getting resources from Mars back to Earth. The only person who seems to have any sights beyond Mars is the visionary, Drake Huxley, founder of BioWare. He’s got a new project, the Generation Ship, and has plans to travel to the next star system and is interested in Jesse’s project. But Jesse doesn’t trust Drake. Years earlier, Drake stole her father’s plans for an augmented reality table, and her father, Lester Waverly, has never let Jesse forget that. Jesse definitely won’t let Drake get his hands on her project. With no funding left, Jesse is faced with giving up her project and moving back to Earth to take over her father’s business.
Eddy Gold, a well-known podcaster, has put his bid in for a seat on the World Commission. His campaign motto is Build Back Earth, and he aims to do this by persuading the public to go back to living a simpler life. But Eddy has other aspirations and one of them is getting hold of Drake’s Generation Ship to use for his own project out in the outer parts of the solar system. But getting that ship won’t be easy because the public loves Drake. Eddy devises a scheme to lure Jesse into working for him as a spy. He wants Jesse to use her hacking abilities to break into Drake’s company and find some secrets that can destroy Drake’s reputation.
Eddy promises Jesse to fund her project if she takes the job. Jesse accepts the job but as she begins spending more time with Drake, they end up falling for each other. But with pressure coming from Eddy to keep searching for something scandalous and from her father insisting that she come to join the business, Jesse has to decide where her loyalties lay and who she will follow in the end.
