Ammatillisen osaamisen kehittyminen koulutuksen aikana: haastattelututkimus varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomin opinnoista

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää sosionomiopiskelijoiden kokemuksia koulutuksen tuottamasta osaamisesta suhteessa asetettuihin kompetensseihin. Kompetenssit kuvaavat kaikille tutkinto-ohjelmille yleisiä ja tutkinto-ohjelmakohtaisia osaamisalueita. Tutkimuksen tavoite oli arvioida tutkinnon tuottamaa osaamista ammatillisesta kehittymisestä sekä kerätä konkreettisia koulutuksen kehittämisideoita kaksi ja puoli vuotta kestävässä koulutuksessa. Koulutus oli sosionomin tutkinto-ohjelma suuntautumisopintoina varhaiskasvatus. Toimeksiantajana opinnäytetyössä oli Savonia-ammattikorkeakoulu.

Tutkimus oli kvalitatiivinen tutkimus ja se toteutettiin verkossa avoimena ryhmähaastatteluna. Kohderyh-mälle esitettiin mahdollisuus osallistua tutkimukseen. Haastatteluun arvottiin kolme opiskelijaa varhaiskas-vatukseen suuntautuneesta monimuotoryhmästä. Kaikilla haastatteluun osallistuneilla oli varhaiskasvatuk-sen työkokemusta ennen koulutuksen aloittamista. Ryhmähaastattelu toteutettiin kesäkuussa 2023.

Tutkimuksessa opiskelijat tunnistivat ammatillisen kasvun sekä asiantuntijuuden kehittyneen usealla osa-alueella opiskelun aikana. Oppimismenetelminä vertaistuki, reflektointi sekä opiskelun suunnittelu nimettiin tärkeiksi oppimista tukeviksi tavoiksi. Yleiset- sekä sosionomin tutkinto-ohjelmakohtaiset kompetenssit olivat kehittyneet esimerkiksi sosiaalialan eettisen osaamisen alueella. Tutkimus tuotti toimeksiantajalle kehittä-misehdotuksia tutkinto-ohjelmaa koskien. Kehittämisenkohteina ilmeni esimerkiksi parempi alaa vastaavan osaamisen tunnustaminen. Jatkossa tutkimusta voisi käyttää vertailussa muiden Savonia ammattikorkeakou-lun varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomiopiskelijaryhmien osaamisen rakentumisesta ja hyödyntää tietoa koulutuk-sen kehittämisessä.

The purpose of the thesis was to find out the experiences of early childhood education Bachelor of Social Services students about the knowledge produced by the education in relation to the set competencies. Com-petencies describe areas of expertise common to all degree programs and specific to the degree program. The goal of the study was to evaluate the knowledge of professional development produced by the degree and to collect concrete ideas for the development of education in a two-and-a-half-year education. The train-ing was a social worker's degree program with orientation studies in early childhood education. The client for the thesis was Savonia University of Applied Sciences.

The research was a qualitative in form and was carried out as an open group interview. The target group was offered the opportunity to participate in the study. Three students were drawn for the interview from the multidisciplinary group focused on early childhood education. All those who participated in the interview had work experience in early childhood education before starting the education. The group interview took place in June 2023.

In the research, the students recognized that their professional growth and expertise developed in several areas during their studies. As the most important ways that support learning the learning methods, peer sup-port, reflection and study planning were named. The general and program-specific competences in social work had developed, for example, in the area of ethical competence in the social sector. The research pro-duced development proposals for the client regarding the degree program. Areas for development were, for example, better recognition of competence corresponding to the field. In the future, the research could be used to compare the competence structure of other Savonia University of Applied Sciences early childhood education Bachelor of Social Services student groups, and to take advantage of the information in the devel-opment of education.
