The aim of this thesis was to create new material for entry-level quality assurance (QA) engineers and developers to familiarize them with test automation practices in the client organisation. The objective was to improve the protocol, which is used to train QA engineers in Mediconsult, and possibly developers with little or no experience in test automation.
In the thesis, the software testing process was developed through implementation method. The goal was to improve the introduction Process by implementing new material for personnel conducting testing. The implementation was conducted through training sessions held remotely. After the meetings, feedback interviews with the participants were held. Interviews were transcribed and results were analyzed.
The thesis was commissioned by Mediconsult Oy. The company develops Electronic Health Registry software to be used in healthcare applications in Finland by health care professionals and employees. Based on the feedback the implementation of test automation introduction material was successful.
The material, which was published in the company intra, Confluence, was considered practical and easy to follow. Accessibility was also considered to be easy. All the interviewed participants had used the material after the initial training sessions. Future development could focus on the upkeep of the material and creating a structured presentation to help with new training sessions.
