This thesis explores the implementation of a Bluetooth mesh network using Raspberry Pi device, focusing on the practical deployment and utilization of the mesh networking technology.
The background highlights the increasing demand for reliable and scalable wireless communication solutions, particularly in IoT applications.
The aim of the thesis is to investigate the hardware and software components required for establishing a Bluetooth mesh network, including the provisioning process, node configuration, and data transmission mechanisms.
Material and methods involve the installation of Raspberry Pi OS, recompilation of the kernel to enable support for encryption algorithms, and deployment of the Meshctl tool for mesh network management, as well as developing own Web UI Application for it.
The results demonstrate successful provisioning and configuration of nodes, along with the establishment of communication channels within the mesh network.
Conclusions drawn from the study underscore the feasibility and effectiveness of Bluetooth mesh networking using Raspberry Pi, offering insights into its practical implementation for various IoT applications.
