The thesis was commissioned by POK Group Oy with the purpose of making a current state description of the
process of the protective cabinet and to developing the process further. In addition, another aim of this thesis
was to make a new layout for the workspace that would make it organized.
The observation of the current process was done by participating in the daily activities of the workers, being in
constant communication with various stakeholders, by making a map of the current workspace and by making
spaghetti diagrams. At the beginning of the thesis, the problem was mapped out. After analysing the collected
data, it was shown that the workspace was not organized in the best way, and it needed an improvement. Because of this it was decided to implement 6S.
As a result of this thesis a newly designed and organized workspace was designed. This improvement made
sure that the conditions of the workspace are as optimal as possible.
