Tiivistelmä
This thesis was commissioned by Sumitomo SHI FW Energia Oy. The aim of the thesis was to implement the cabling tool of Cadmatic in Sumitomo's design environment. Since the projects are carried out worldwide, the national standards, regulations, and materials to be followed also differ depending on the target country.
First, the common cable types that can be used regardless of the destination country were selected. During the work, an attribute for a new cable type was added to Comos, a plant engineering software from Siemens. Additionally, a data transfer table was prepared for Cadmatic, and a cable library was created in Cadmatic. In this thesis, the implementation of the cable routing tool in Sumitomo's design environment was discussed, the observed and possibly emerging challenges were considered, and solutions were developed to solve them.
The learning outcome of this thesis was the use of Cadmatic's routing tool and its challenges. The ways in which Cadmatic's routing tool can be used effectively as an aid in electrical automation planning of projects were discovered. The cable routing tool commissioning was implemented in a real project. In the future, data transfer will happen automatically between Comos and Cadmatic, when Cadmatic gets the data transfer fea-ture tested and published.
