Tilinpäätösanalyysi vuosilta 2019–2022 : Intersport Finland Oy & Stadium Oy

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli analysoida kahden suomalaisen osakeyhtiön, Intersport Finland Oy:n ja Stadium Oy:n tilinpäätöksiä vuosilta 2019–2022 ja vertailla yhtiöiden taloudellista tilaa keskenään. Yhtiöiden toimiala on liikunta- ja vapaa-ajan tukku- ja vähittäiskauppa. Analyysin tarkkailujaksolle ajoittui Covid-19-pandemia ja Venäjän hyökkäyssota Ukrainaan, jotka vaikuttivat olennaisesti maailman ja Suomen talouteen. Analyysissa pyrittiin selvittämään näiden tapahtumien yhteyttä tilinpäätöksissä ja sen analyysissa havaittuihin muutoksiin.

Tämän opinnäytetyön materiaalina käytettiin molempien analysoitavien yhtiöiden tilinpäätöksiä kultakin tarkkailujakson tilikaudelta. Tilinpäätökset olivat saatavilla Patentti- ja rekisterihallituksen Virre-tietokannasta. Tilinpäätösanalyysin indikaattoreina käytettiin kannattavuuden, vakavaraisuuden ja maksuvalmiuden tunnuslukuja, joiden laskemiseen ja taulukointiin käytettiin Microsoft Excel -ohjelmistoa.

Analyysin keskeisimmäksi tulokseksi nousi tilinpäätösanalyysin tarkastelujakson ajalle sijoittuneiden maailman tapahtumien samanlainen vaikutus molempien yhtiöiden liikevaihtoon. Analyysissa havaittiin, että molempien analysoitavien yhtiöiden taloudellisesta tilanteesta löytyi paljon yhteistä. Tilinpäätöksistä lasketuista tunnusluvuista havaittiin, että Intersport Finland Oy:n kannattavuus oli hieman Stadium Oy:n kannattavuutta korkeampi. Stadium Oy:n rahoitusrakenne oli hieman terveempi kuin Intersport Oy:llä. Molempien yhtiöiden maksuvalmius oli tyydyttävällä tasolla.

Koska opinnäytetyön tekijällä ei ole pääsyä yhtiöiden kirjanpitolukuihin, tehtiin analyysi tilinpäätösten oikaisemattomissa tuloslaskelmissa ja taseissa ilmoitettujen lukujen sekä toimintakertomusten pohjalta. Analyysin yhtenä johtopäätöksenä todettiin, että yksityiskohtaisemman jatkoanalyysin tekemisen voisi mahdollistaa pääsy tarkempiin kirjanpitolukuihin, jolloin voisi porautua syvemmälle tuloslaskelman ja taseen eriin.

The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the financial statements of two Finnish companies, Intersport Finland Oy and Stadium Oy from the fiscal years 2019–2022. The financial statuses of the two companies from the sports and leisure wholesale and retail business were compared with each other. During the observation period of the analysis the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine significantly affected the economy both globally and domestically. The analysis sought to find out the connection between these events and the changes observed in the analysis.

The material for this thesis was the financial statements of both analyzed companies for each financial year of the observation period. The financial statements were available from the Virre database of the Finnish National Examinations and Registration Board. Indicators of profitability, solvency and liquidity were used as indicators of the analysis, and Microsoft Excel software was used to calculate and tabulate them.

The most important result of the study was the similar impact of the world events that took place during the review period of analysis on the turnover of both companies. With the key figures calculated from the financial statements, it was found that the profitability of Intersport Finland Oy was slightly higher than Stadium Oy’s. Stadium Oy's financial structure was slightly healthier than Intersport Finland Oy's. The liquidity of both companies was at a satisfactory level.

Since the author of the thesis does not have access to the companies' accounting figures, the analysis was made based on the figures reported in the unadjusted income statements and balance sheets, as well as the activity reports. As one of the conclusions of the analysis, it was stated that a more detailed further analysis could be made possible by access to more precise accounting figures.
