As a leading global tea producer, Kenya continues to adapt the required strategies and operational advice to enhance its export operations. The trend of tea consumption is growing worldwide. Sustainability is vital in an exporter’s capability to outshine competitors worldwide. The study focused on the sustainable requirements for Kenyan tea exports to Finland and aimed to gather information about how sustainability criteria often impact Kenyan tea exports.
Circular Economy theory served as the foundation for the investigation. A qualitative research approach was deemed crucial for the composition of this report. Data and information were gathered through telephone interviews. The results were analyzed to address how sustainability standards often affect the export of tea goods from Kenya to Finland in particular. The study revealed that packaging and labelling are the most sustainable requirements for exporting tea to EU markets and Finland. Food control, hygiene for food items, and food safety management are also included as sustainable requirements for exporting Kenyan tea into Finland.
