Tiivistelmä
This bachelor's thesis presents the technology transformation implemented at Strawberry by studying employee dynamics in transition to new systems. Within a short period of time, the company has been successful in adopting the cloud integration platforms Mews and Event temple replacing on premises legacy systems. The study shows how employees adapted to the changes and their motivation after the changes. The main purpose of this transformation is to increase flexibility, scalability and operational efficiency, its implementation poses both technical and cultural challenges. The company's ambitious plan is to integrate all systems into the cloud-based technology while generating data, improving workflow and reporting through these platforms as well as improving guest digital experience.
In the study quantitative data based on a questionnaire designed to focus on three main areas was analysed. The main objective was to demonstrate the understanding of the employees' perceptions, adaptation processes, factors that influence them and the strategies Strawberry can implement in the future.
Altogether, there were 88 questionnaire answers from different departments of the company analysed. Four open ended questions and 11 scale 0-5 were sent to 95 employees. The findings indicate that the transformation within the company was successful in many areas, such as pre-transition as to training and support, and smoothness of the transition. However, some challenges were outlined after the transition. There are possibilities for improvement in areas such as usability and functionality. In the future, employee involvement in similar transformation could be a strength.
