In the global economy, energy business plays a vital role, and energy has become the backbone of daily human life. In the present day, we human beings cannot imagine life without energy. The increasing demand for efficient energy has promoted the energy business to integrate and adopt digital tools and technologies in their business operations. These digital tools and techniques enhance efficiency, productivity, competitiveness, flexibility, and sustainability across the energy value chain.
This thesis aims to explore the impact of digital transformation in the energy business and address the challenges, potential solutions, and new opportunities brought by those digital tools and techniques in the energy business. It explores the socio-economic and environmental implications of digital transformation, analyzes the impact of digital technologies on the efficiency of energy distribution networks, and assesses the integration of renewable energy sources facilitated by digital solutions with the impact on the workforce in energy companies. Overall, the thesis aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted implications of digital transformation on the energy business.
Integrating digital tools and technologies into the energy business comes with challenges. Because of these challenges, companies must face complexities in integrating new technologies with existing systems that can increase the budget, which is somewhat difficult for smaller companies. Similarly, when things comes to digital there is a rise in cybersecurity and data privacy concerns. Despite many challenges, digital transformation enables efficient processing, enhances decision-making through real-time data and advanced analytics drives efficiency and innovation in the energy sectors marching the way for sustainability and technological advancement.
