Tiivistelmä
The aim of the thesis was to help to understand how the lifespan of the equipment and the consumables related to it can be increased in the field of shipbuilding industry. The thesis was commissioned by the shipbuilding company IMT-Metatech Oy.
In this thesis project theory of welding equipment, its lifespan, ways of maintaining the equipment, as well as depreciation theory were covered and implemented to a real company with welding equipment.
In this thesis project the possible solutions for the lifespan prolongation were presented, including the visualized depreciation of the equipment. This has built foundation for the possible changes in the current state of the welding equipment management in the IMT-Metatech Oy.
