Artificial Intelligence is becoming a key enabler for organizations to survive and thrive in the current era of highly competitive market. It has proven its capabili ties in all the sectors of business, including logistics. With the growing complexi ties of the Supply Chain Logistics process, coupled with the ever-increasing customer demands, any business that does not incorporate smart technologies in their logistics will not be able to sustain their supply chain and soon their lo gistics will be inefficient and obsolete. This paper reviews the importance of arti ficial Intelligence in making the logistics sector of any organization become more efficient. The study is done for a for a frozen food company in India. The commissioning company wants to analyse the role of AI in logistics in the cur rent business scenario, its future potential and benefits to the organizations.
The research approach used in the study was mixed method approach compris ing of literature review, case study as well as a survey shared with Supply Chain and logistics professionals. In the literature review, the existing academic works and articles in AI and logistics were studied. The evolution of AI and how it is becoming an integral part of logistics processes was observed. The next re search method was a survey with five participants who are working as Supply Chain Professionals. A case study of a leading organization was also done to study the impact AI and its related technologies has had in that Organization’s success.
The research concluded that Artificial Intelligence is the way forward for the all the logistics business in future. The organizations that have incorporated AI in their logistics processes have already started to reap the benefits of the same. The commissioning company has been provided with recommendations to inte grate AI in their logistics department. Suggestions have also been provided about the current AI tools and software that can be used to make the logistics process more efficient.
