Tiivistelmä
Research data management is a crucial process involving the proper labelling, storage, and accessibility of data throughout the research journey. Effective data management preserves valuable information, facilitates sharing among researchers, and optimizes resource utilization. Moreover, compliance with government directives mandating public access to publicly funded research necessitates the practice of data sharing. Research Aim and Research Question: This study's primary objective was to assess the readiness of nGap Lecturers across all Campuses to share their research data and to educate them about the significance of data sharing. The research question centered on understanding researchers' willingness to share data and their awareness of the benefits associated with this practice.
Existing literature on research data management underscores its importance for ensuring transparency, reproducibility, and accountability in research. Proper data management allows for the preservation and long-term accessibility of research data, enabling future replication and reuse. Furthermore, data sharing promotes collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and scientific integrity, ultimately maximizing the impact of research. Conducted as a case study, of quantitative research approach, utilized an online survey as the data collection tool. nGap Lecturers from various campuses were invited to participate voluntarily, ensuring authenticity and privacy.
Ethical protocols were strictly followed to protect the rights and interests of the participants. Data analysis was performed using Excel and presented in charts.
