Tiivistelmä
The goal of this project was to design and implement a customizable word-guessing game in a digital form. The traditional Alias board game usually comes with a defined set of vocabularies that cannot be customized. Having the game on a digital platform helps to reduce paper waste as well as provides the possibility to modify the set of words being used in each game.

The study began by examining the fundamental mechanics of Alias and determining its key characteristics to ensure a successful transition into a digital product. By studying the theories of the web-based interactive learning method, the knowledge gained was leveraged to create a successful application.

The project was built using SvelteKit, a modern JavaScript framework that enables fast and interactive web applications. Along with SvelteKit, Skeleton components were chosen to ensure a consistent layout throughout the application interfaces. The database layer was handled by PocketBase services, integrated with the SvelteKit backend.

The outcome of the project was a web-based version of the Alias game, designed to function smoothly and enhance the user experience. The application provides a solid foundation for future advancements in the form of further customization options or the creation of additional features.

In conclusion, the study has successfully achieved the goal of designing and developing a web-based version of the Alias game. The application is a more flexible version of its analogue counterpart and will be used in teaching at the case company.
