The revolution of technology has changed the nature of work and the workforce at the workplace. As an important factor that defines the business’s success, Human Resources (HR) must deploy technology to their practices to adapt to market changes. Understanding the impact of integrating HR technology into HR activities helps businesses minimize the issues during the implementation. This study aims to explore how JUKI Vietnam has integrated FAST technology into its HR operations after a recent merger.
The theoretical part of this study is based on Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model. This model describes each step in detail to illustrate the strategies that JUKI applied during the integration process. In addition, it serves as a lens to identify the challenges that JUKI faced along with the solutions to overcome these difficulties.
This study employs a qualitative case study approach for the empirical part. The data collection process was organized through interviews with four key members of the HR department, including the deputy head of HR. This purposive sampling approach helped to select elements with deep experience in the integration process. The data was then analyzed thematically to provide results on the HR functions that have been implemented in FAST, along with the difficulties, solutions, and strategies that JUKI Vietnam applied in this integration process.
Finally, the study proposes practical solutions that JUKI can implement to continue to effectively integrate FAST technology in the long term. Additionally, this study serves as a valuable practical lesson for similar manufacturing companies in Vietnam.
