Tiivistelmä
The purpose of the thesis was to produce an educational poster with information for Kenyan postpartum women on long-acting reversible contraception. The thesis is a functional thesis where information was collected from Cinahl, Medline, Cochrane, PubMed, healthcare online databases, books and was put together.
The findings showed that, long-acting reversible contraception has a higher effectivity, and Kenyan postpartum women can utilize as a method of preventing unintended pregnancy to achieve birth spacing which is an important benefit to the mother and her children. There is a significant risk of pregnancy shortly after delivery, making it important to initiate a contraceptive method in a timely manner. The choice of LARC during postpartum period depends on factors such as breastfeeding status and plans for future pregnancy.
The information on the poster will be available to Kenyan postpartum women, providing them with valuable knowledge. It is recommended that postpartum women receive support from health care providers who can provide detailed information on LARC as a method for preventing unintended pregnancy.
