Tiivistelmä
The objective of this thesis is to facilitate the effective assimilation of new employees at Ramboll Finland into the company's operations and culture through the enhancement of the local onboarding plan. The research examines the challenges faced by the Finnish construction industry, such as the shortage of skilled professionals, highlighting Ramboll's efforts to engage and attract top talent.
Ramboll has recognized the need to adapt and implement its new global onboarding process locally. This study investigates how local onboarding supports global goals, identifies specific challenges, and areas in need of development.
Feedback collected from key stakeholders in Finland forms the basis of the analysis, and local practices are compared to those in Denmark and the United Kingdom. The result is a practical onboarding handbook that combines comprehensive data and best practices tailored to local needs.
It has been established that a well-constructed local onboarding plan is more effective than a global program in terms of the onboarding experience. The Local Onboarding Handbook, built on this insight, provides concrete tools for managers and supports new employees in integration, thus ensuring their commitment from day one.
This guide not only ensures the consistent quality of the onboarding process but also reflects Ramboll's commitment to the well-being of its employees from the outset. The implementation of the measures proposed in the thesis will benefit Ramboll by strengthening the onboarding experience, which not only equips new employees with necessary information and resources but also facilitates the adoption of the company culture.
