The aim of this thesis is to compare different programming languages to gather knowledge about their differences, use cases and impact on environment.
This thesis is written for a Finnish software development company that currently has roughly 35 employees who mostly consist of software developers. In the company, most used programming language currently is Python. This thesis aims to evaluate different programming languages to possibly make other programming language choices in the future as the whole information technology industry is continuously evolving and under transformation. The company mentioned mostly focuses on web application development, so the programming languages mentioned in this thesis are chosen to support this development.
