This thesis explores the impacts of homeschooling in Poland, comparing it to traditional school systems to understand the benefits and challenges faced by students and parents. Based on the theoretical framework of Self-Determination Theory, Place-Based Education, and Flow Theory, as well as using a qualitative approach, the study draws on naturalistic observations and semi-structured interviews with homeschooling families, focusing on themes such as autonomy, academic competence, socialization, emotional well-being, and satisfaction with the Polish educational system. The study reveals the complex emotional landscape of homeschooling, with reduced stress in a flexible environment balanced by pressures related to self-management and standardized exams. Future research should incorporate quantitative methods and a more diverse sample to broaden the understanding of homeschooling’s impact on emotional well-being and educational outcomes in Poland.
