Abstract
Supply chain management optimization plays a crucial role in improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall performance in the manufacturing sector. As manufacturing companies face increasing competition and market demands, optimizing supply chains has become essential for sustaining growth and profitability. In this study various strategies and technologies for supply chain optimization were explored, aiming to identify effective methods that can drive efficiency improvements within the manufacturing industry. The thesis was commissioned by Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
To achieve these objectives, a comprehensive literature review focused on theories of supply chain design optimization, best practices, and the specific impacts of optimization on manufacturing performance was conducted. A mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research through surveys, interviews, and case studies was employed. Careful attention was given to sampling techniques, data analysis methods, and ethical considerations to ensure a thorough understanding of the relationship between supply chain optimization and operational performance.
The findings of the study provide manufacturing companies with targeted recommendations for implementing effective supply chain optimization strategies. These insights contribute to advancing current practices in supply chain management by offering valuable, practical guidance for both industry practitioners and researchers. By delivering actionable recommendations, this study not only enhances operational performance but also supports a framework for continued improvement and competitive advantage in the manufacturing sector.
