Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis was to use existing literature to investigate leadership, managerial work, and training programs in the context of career development. The aim of this research was to study what is the role of training and training programs in the development of leadership and managerial competencies and how do they impact career development. The thesis was conducted as a descriptive literature review.

The theoretical part discusses the role of effective leadership in organizational success and the evolving perceptions of managerial work. The thesis studies how structured and effective training programs impact both, individuals and organizations. Key factors influencing training effectiveness are also investigated, as well as various pathways to managerial roles. The theoretical information on the research is based on literature, articles, and researches.

The conclusions indicate that leadership and managerial tasks are interdependent, requiring comprehensive training to equip managers with essential skills. According to the conclusion, structured training positively influences job performance, employee satisfaction, and career advancement, while also enhancing overall organizational performance and retention. Key factors affecting training effectiveness include alignment with organizational goals, participant engagement, and trainer qualifications. The need for tailored training content and ongoing support is underscored. Ultimately, investing in training is vital for developing leadership capabilities and fostering a competent workforce, which is crucial for long-term organizational success.
