Leposidehoito psykiatrisessa hoitotyössä : oppimateriaali hoitotyön opiskelijoille

Abstract

Leposidehoito on psykiatrisessa hoitotyössä käytetty pakkokeino, jossa potilas sidotaan sänkyyn siteiden avulla. Siteitä laitetaan potilaalle yleensä rinnan kohdalle, molempiin ranteisiin ja nilkkoihin. Leposidehoito on oikein toteutettuna turvallinen hoitokeino, jota käytetään, mikäli potilas todennä- köisesti vahingoittaisi itseään tai muita. Leposidehoidon toteuttamisessa on tarkat säännökset, jotka pohjautuvat mielenterveyslakiin. Opetusmateriaalissa kerromme, kuinka leposidehoito toteu- tetaan teoreettisesti. Leposidehoito on ollut laillistettu hoitokeino Suomessa jo pitkän aikaa. Opinnäytetyömme tavoitteena oli tuottaa Oulun ammattikorkeakoululle opetuskäyttöön soveltuvaa oppimateriaalia leposidehoidon toteuttamisesta psykiatrisessa hoitotyössä. Opinnäytetyössämme lähestyimme aihetta pakkokeinojen vähentämisen näkökulmasta. Opinnäytetyössämme kävimme läpi leposidehoidon toteutusta sen aloittamisesta lopetukseen ja hoidon aikana huomioitavat asiat. Oppimateriaali tuotettiin PowerPoint -esitelmänä. Opinnäytetyömme teoreettinen osuus käsittelee leposidehoidon lainsäädäntöä, hoidon tarvetta ja pakkokeinojen käytön vähentämistä. Luotettavat tietokannat, joita käytimme, olivat esimerkiksi Duodecim, Theseus, Finlex, THL ja STM. Toteutetusta materiaalista kerättiin palautetta loppuvaiheen sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoilta Webropol- kyselyllä. Palautteista saimme tulokseksi, että oppimateriaalimme on visuaalisesti miellyttävä, selkeä ja soveltuva opetuskäyttöön.

Restraint therapy is a coercive intervention used in psychiatric nursing to secure a patient to a bed using restraints. Typically, these restraints are applied around the chest, wrists, and ankles. When performed correctly, restraint therapy is a safe method designed to prevent patients from harming themselves or others. The application of restraint therapy is strictly regulated and adheres to the provisions outlined in mental health legislation. Our educational material offers a theoretical over- view of the correct procedures for implementing restraint therapy, which has been a legally ap- proved treatment method in Finland for many years. The goal of our thesis was to develop educational material for use at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, specifically on the implementation of restraint therapy in psychiatric nursing. In our thesis, we explored restraint therapy with a focus on reducing the use of coercive measures. We analyzed the process of restraint therapy from initiation to termination, highlighting key considerations during the treatment. The material, presented as a PowerPoint, includes a theoretical section that covers the legal frame- work, the necessity of restraint therapy, and strategies to minimize the use of coercive measures. Reliable sources for our work included databases such as Duodecim, Theseus, Finlex, THL, and STM. As part of our research, we conducted a Webropol survey targeted at final-year nursing students. The feedback confirmed that our educational material is visually pleasing, clear and well-suited for teaching purposes.
