Tiivistelmä
Normet is a world leading manufacturer of mining machines. Their product portfolio includes machines for scaling, transporting, and spraying concrete, charging explosives, underground logistics and lifting. With a broad product portfolio, which is assembled around standard modules it is important to control dimensions of different parts. Tolerating parts in the more traditional way can lead to problems when making complex welded or bolted assemblies. Normet Oy did not have technical drawing instructions on how to use Geometrical Production Specifications or Reference Point System. The author of this thesis was assigned to produce technical drawing instructions for the design department from these topics. The author needed to produce drawing instructions which combine different standards and meet Normet´s needs. The author interviewed many different professionals from Normet to form a more precise picture of what kind of geometrical production specifications and reference position system needs there are in the company. The result of the drawing instructions formed to be handpicked parts of standards rewritten into a more understandable form and examples made from real Normet models.
