The objective of this study is to develop recommendations for attracting and retaining talent at ATC Global Solutions Oy Ab.. The company faces challenges yearly in finding, recruiting and keeping casual and seasonal skilled workers in the forwarding, logistics and transportation field. Also, the work is physically challenging and cargo volumes have much seasonal variation. The aim of this study is to create recommendations to overcome the identified weaknesses.
The chosen research approach for this study is design research and data collection, qualitative methods utilizing the interviews and the workshops. This study consists of four stages. The first stage is (Data 1) the current state analysis to identify the current process for attracting and retaining casual and non-permanent workers to summarize the strengths and the weaknesses. The second stage is a literature review based on the strengths and weaknesses from the current state analysis which formulates a conceptual framework. The third stage is (Data 2) building the initial recommendations proposal with the key stakeholders based on both previous stages the current state analysis and the conceptual framework. The last stage was (Data 3) validating the initial recommendations with the key stakeholders, gathering stakeholders feedback to finalize the final recommendations on attracting, training and retaining talents as the outcome of this study.
