Tiivistelmä
This research was conducted to explore the impact of wellness programs on employee well-being and productivity in corporate settings. Specifically, it investigates how physical and mental health programs, such as gym membership, stress management workshops, and mental health support services, contribute to enhancing employees' overall health and engagement. A qualitative research design was adopted, with data collected through interviews with 10 employees from four different companies. Participant were selected based on their involvement with or knowledge of their organizations' well-ness programs.

The result of the study reveals that although employees generally give high ratings to wellness programs, there is a wide variation in the types of programs offered by companies. The programs related to physical wellbeing, such as gym membership and fitness challenges, were found to have the most positive effect on the physical health of the employees. Stress management workshops and mental health support services were recognized as beneficial for improving mental well-being, reducing stress and enhancing focus. However, some employees feel that these activities are overly basic or lack diversity, and that there is little time allotted for participation.

An important finding of the research was the necessity of tailoring wellness programs to the specific needs of the employees. Many participants stated that although broad wellness programs are helpful, even more tailored approaches with personal preferences and personal time in mind would increase the effectiveness and participation in the programs. The research further highlighted the importance of supportive work environments that incorporate wellness programs addressing both physical and mental health needs, as these were found to be linked to employee satisfaction and productivity.

The conclusion drawn from the study was that well-designed wellness programs can significantly improve employee well-being and lead to a more productive workforce. In addition, to gain more effective benefits, organizations must expand the range of wellness programs offered, increase flexibility, and emphasize mental health equally with physical health programs. These findings are relevant for companies aiming to improve employee engagement, reduce burnout, and promote a healthier and more motivated workforce.
